# Work

Turn ideas and requirements into clear, actionable plans with the help of CodeMate Work.

An AI-powered workspace for researching, exploring, and structuring ideas before and during software development.

CodeMate Work helps you understand requirements, Deep research on technical topics, explore product and feature ideas, evaluate feasibility, and turn unstructured information into actionable outputs. You can provide context through prompts, files, knowledge sources, and connected tools to help Work understand the problem you are solving.

The output can include user stories, acceptance criteria, technical specifications, research findings, and other structured documents that help move your work forward.

### How it works

A Work session follows a simple process. Start with an idea or requirement, provide the relevant context, and refine the results through follow-up instructions.

**1. Start with an idea**

Describe what you are working on in natural language. You can share a product idea, feature requirement, technical question, or problem you want to explore.

The more context you provide, the better Work can understand your goal and provide relevant results.

**2. Add context**

Bring the information Work needs to understand the problem. You can use prompts, files, knowledge sources, and connected tools to provide additional context.

This allows Work to work with the information relevant to your requirements instead of relying only on the initial prompt.

**3. Research & analyze**

Work can research technical requirements, explore possible approaches, analyze product and feature ideas, and evaluate feasibility.

You can use follow-up instructions to ask questions, explore alternatives, or go deeper into specific areas of the problem.

**4. Structure the output**

Once the requirements and context are understood, Work can turn the findings into structured outputs such as user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.

These outputs provide a clearer foundation for planning and implementation.

**5. Refine & iterate**

Work is designed for iterative conversations. Review the generated results, provide additional instructions, and refine them until they match your requirements.

You can continue exploring the problem or update the output as your requirements evolve.

### Key capabilities

CodeMate Work brings together the tools and context you need to work on requirements, research, and planning from a single workspace.

* **Resources:** Manage your files and project resources in one place. You can create folders, upload files, search your resources, and use them as context for your work.
* **Connectors:** Connect external tools and services through MCP servers to bring relevant information and workflows into Work.
* **Rules:** Create rulebooks that define instructions and guidelines for how Work should handle specific tasks.
* **Attachments & Remote Files:** Add files or images directly to a conversation and access remote files when additional project context is required.
