# Connectors

Connectors refer to MCP Servers which allow Work to connect with External tools for better conte

### MCP Servers

MCP Servers extend CodeMate Work by connecting it to external tools and services. Once connected, Work can use the tools and information provided by these servers when a task requires them.

For example, MCP servers can connect Work with services such as Linear and Atlassian, allowing Work to retrieve relevant information and use it as part of a conversation.

### Using MCP Servers in Work

Once an MCP server is connected, Work can use the tools provided by that server when they are relevant to your request.

For example, with an Atlassian MCP server connected, you can ask Work to check your Jira project for issues assigned to you and summarize the tasks that need attention. Work uses the connected MCP tool to retrieve the relevant information and presents the results in the conversation.

### Managing Connected MCP Servers

The Connectors section provides a centralized view of connected MCP servers. You can check their connection status, update their configuration when required, or disconnect services that are no longer needed.

### Troubleshooting

**MCP server is not connected**

Check the server status in Connectors and verify that the server details and authentication are correct. If required, reconnect the server and complete the authentication process again.

**Work does not use the connected MCP server**

Confirm that the server shows a Connected status and that your request requires the information or capabilities provided by that server. Try submitting the request again with a new conversation if necessary.
